The shure's are okay. The bass when on "bass boost" or "hip hop" reminds me of my old headphones.. very crackly. But on the setting "jazz" the bass is very apparent, but not overbearing like I'm listening to a system with 12" subs on it.

Is this what you were thinking would happen? Overall decent sound quality, but the bass wasn't what I was hoping for. Worth $77? Not really

Oh yeah, and the noise isolation is pretty decent. Won't need to wear ear plugs anymore while polishing.. and I still get music to boot!

They're headphones, and in-ear ones at that. Your expectations of bass for under $100 is quite daft.

The best sub $100 headphones out there are arguably the Grado SR-60s. However, they're not the most comfortable, they're not in-ear, and they're not noise-attenuating. They just sound good, and are pretty reasonable to drive.

I swear by Sony MDR 7506s. Once again though, they're not in ear (not even close).
