nw i work for an architecture firm and im in charge of the architecture dept. blueprints and 3d animations(the last guy who held my position was 35yrs old)
i love my job altough i deal w/ some major dick heads who have lots and lots of money(so basicly when im designing their home im there bitch

Yes, we're lucky to have jobs, but having a job and loving it are two different things. I think it's worse to be underemployed than to be unemployed (unless you're really in a dire situation).
For a senior technical guy like me, staying current and deeply involved in my company's future is critical.
For the record, I've never felt that change for the sake of change is a good thing. Probably why I've stuck it out during hard times with only two companies in 20+ years of the computer biz... However, if you can't grow and learn in your job, then you need to make a change.
