1. Make sure there's some reason you're going other than her. Otherwise, you stand a very HIGH probability of going straight into the Friends Penalty Box. How, or why, this happens is a bit beyond me (if you're in town on business, you get laid; if you're there to see her, you're a )

2. Work the net, and work the network of friends. Even if you go over to your buddy Sancho's just to play video games and crash on his sofa, at least you have lifeboat to facilitate a quick exit. Ideally, you found some Cougar or college student in the same town (Cougars tend to have cars that run; with which they can pick you up).

2a. Know where the nearby motels are. I recall an evening where I left my hostess (and her *surprise* bf) to head home while I banged a friend-of-a-friend at the mo-mo. Hostess wasn't happy, and yet, there wasn't much she could do.

3. The rest; well, that's just the normal dating dos and don'ts.

well anyways what you said was good advice.
like you said, acting like you are there in town for something else is key. you don't want to seem like you're trying hard or too desperate. its good to be slightly indifferent.
