for $1500, I'd scavenge around the junkyards for a salvaged pickup, and drop in an old 350 (or 351 if you choose ford). makes a great beater.

and then you can decide what to do with the remaining $1000

but seriously, i choose

of the cars you listed, i'd opt for the '91 CRX. it's a great platform should you ever decide to make an auto-x machine. the '92 civic with the Z-series block is also a great starting point.

i say avoid the '80 accord. they're reliable but the crx/civic are a much more dignified vehicle.

the geo metro is the lowest common denominator of the automotive industry - NO

as for the festiva. our golf kart has a ford festiva engine. take it how you want, but do you want to drive a full-size car that shares its engine with a golf kart?

for $1500, though, i could get you a '69 Z28 with a 428. rotted seats and rusted body, no doubt, but it goes like stink

Grab up the festiva. I heard about some morons that had a kit where you could put a Chevy 305 in the back seat. Now THAT would be a fast car.
