The worst one I ever felt was the 7.1 Hector Mine Quake in 99. We were in Yucca Valley for a star party. We were staying in a dog-friendly motel. It awakened us in the middle of the night. There were a lot of out-of-towners in the motel who had never felt an earthquake. They were really freaked out.
