Wow, AnDy, that is surely a bunch of bad sh!t to happen to your dad. Mine passed away when he was just 54, a massive heart attack. I'm so happy they figured out what was wrong with your dad and now he can manage it and get healthy again.

AnDy, I am glad your dad seems to be on the road to recovery now......

On my dad's side of the family his brother and 2 sisters have all been diagnosed with diabetes in the last 2 or 3 years. He is the only one of them that hasn't ..... yet! We (my borther and sisters) are always warning him to be careful and make sure that he sees the doctor if there is anything wrong, as it seems that it is only a matter of time before he too will develop it....

From what I understandf it is not a major problem once they have diagnosed it, so hopefully he will be back and fit again soon.
