Well, everyone is listening to each other, and then posting intelligent responses, not mocking intelligent people with a yawn. Its ****ed up, and I can say so, because Bush hasnt taken our freedom of speech away yet
Don't sweat it J. Yawns, smileys and sometimes grunting out partial ideas is all he has.

I'm not sure he's had a complete thought on the subject. I doubt it's occurred to him that the people seen on his tv are either real or not people who've chosen to live in NO. The affluent folks who've chosen to live there all had the means to leave and are living with relatives poolside in Phoenix.

I'm sypmathetic nonetheless.

I wonder too if he realizes that virtually everyone 'choses' to live where there are threats from nature at every turn. I doubt it. Let's not be sympathetic he implies, to the victims of the tsunami; they chose to live in a place where than can happen. Let's not be sympathetic he implies, to the victims of Bam since the area is well known to have suffered devastating earthquakes in the past.

Maybe he's be sympathetic to victims of an icestorm in Mexico or a tidalwave in Switzerland.

The subject of sympathy is an interesting one too. Neaderthal is thought to have been a sympathetic being since the residue of flowers have been found on those buried by their kin. Lower primates aren't thought capable of true sympathy. Perhaps this explains it.

So when this gets a yawn intstead of and intelligent response. Bear this in mind.

<-- s waiting for the "intelligent response" qt said was happening here... instead of the spin drivel and personal attacks.

pithy comment
[QUOTE=KenS2K,Sep 8 2005, 05:41 PM]<-- No sympathy for adults who 'choose' to live below sea level near the ocean in a KNOWN hurricane zone.

Ken I am conflicted over something, please help. You support (obviously by this gif being in your sig) The One Campaign, which is a campaign to rid the world of poverty. They in turn support very noble causes, including Hurricane Katrrina relief. Perhaps you are not aware that most of the victims left behind in New Orleans in the wake of the flood are extremely impoverished. It was the poorest of the poor that were unable to leave.

Is this not a conflict for you?
