According to an article on Yahoo, Baton Rouge may become the new New Orleans

 

Too bad this is the biggest of Bush's worries, because I just read this on Yahoo:

"The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) deplored the fact that the poorest residents, those unable to flee the hurricane, bore the brunt of the disaster. It said 300,000 to 400,000 children were left homeless. "



Thats nuts.

 

That's a weird concept. This sort of thing happened in ancient Greece but the idea of a world class city being 'replaced' is a little weird.

 

the whole idea of a city being completely destroyed seems like a weird concept in this day and age in America......

 

New Orleans is just a myth. Just like Atlantis.

Though seriously, the same thoughts did cross my mind. Why the **** are these guys shooting at helicopters that are there to help?

 

Its all so sad. At least they cleared out the Superdome and the Convention Center. Now its the search for the random people still in the town

 

^ I anticipate stories of people still being found in the city in two or three weeks from noW.

 

I seem to remember that children were thought to have been abducted into the sex trade in the aftermath of the tsunami.
