playing carnegie hall is a dream that many never reach. I played the Kennedy Center in DC once, and that's not an opportunity I would ever have wanted to miss. Forget school for a bit and go for the fame and glory! You will NEVER regret it. Many many people get a 4.0 in school; hardly ANY get to play Carnegie Hall. Which is more impressive, a diamond among diamonds, or the diamond in the rough? Not only is it a chance of a lifetime for yourself, but it will distinguish you from many others that excel at life, and will impress people for much longer than your grades ever will, including yourself.

You should read your schools absence policy...at ours we have an extensive "extenuating circumstances" portion which covers such things as arrest, runaways....to more mundane things like college visits...
Im sure there is some way you could consider this an extenuating circumstance and thus not have your absences counted.
so id go talk to my counselor/principle/teachers etc.... also when talking to the school system remember to start low..first go in and talk to teachers, then counselor, then assistant principle...just so you cant get rejected at first.

George - have you talked to anyone in the school about this? I mean administrators or your probable History teacher? I think if you lay out this scenario for them, they'd do what they can to help. They may be willing to help you work something out regarding the summer course; most teachers are willing to work things out with extremely intelligent and dedicated students like yourself. problem is, they don't have high school level US history at any local college. plus even if i did find it, i don't think it would count. not sure how the credits thing work.

Seriously though, I'd say do what Jeff suggested. Talk to the teacher, I'm sure they'll be able to do something about it. Like Mikey said, you don't want to regret this decision later in life.

then for wicky, i got the cliff notes on the bottom.i don't think they can do anything. in summer school, we do a chapter or two a day. so if we do one chapter a day, i will have missed 5 chapters by the time i come back. they do this for our sake since if you miss a day, your grade will almost definitely be a low A or a B. 2-3 quizzes a day. quite hectic.

's. i hope i can. i'm going in tomorrow.it should be a good experience. meals are covered thankfully!!! i can't imagine how expensive food costs.
