not sure i can do that.

and well.. i talked to my counselor who directed me to the dean. and right when i said carnegie hall, she said "no. sorry. most schools in the area do US history at the same time so, you're out of luck."

so that's out of the question. i was going to bargain but she said it so sternly that i knew she wasn't just doing this to make me feel bad.

George, what 7 classes are you taking? Do you need them all to graduate? Can one of the AP courses wait?

i'm planning to take my SATII's on Chemistry. so i'm taking regular chemistry this year, and hopefully AP chem next year. so after that class I will be taking my SATIIs. spanish i can't really skip a year because 1 year absence from a language is too much. orchestra is the easiest class to drop since i can take it the year after and still be just as good. 4 years of english are required. so can't drop that. i need 3 or 4 years of math. but i'm going for AP calculus by the time i graduate so can't back out now. i might just have to suck it up and do 7 periods, but i dunno. it really is a once in a life time chance. so next year, if i go to carnegie hall, it'll be
hopefully
AP english and
AP chem
spanish 3
hon. precal
hon. orchestra
us history
water polo/swimming

what i planned out was
4 years of english
4 years of math
4 years of science
4 years of orchestra
4 years of wp/swimming
3 years of spanish
2 years of history, 1 year of government/econ.

obviously life never comes out as planned, so here i am.

well, another thing is i may be able to get a community service job and just get most of my community service done during the summer and don't stress about community service during the year.

Looking at your schedule, and knowing what your goals are, my honest recommendation is to drop spanish 3 from that schedule.

I'm not sure how community service plays into your plans, but you could also consider loading that up during the summer around the carnegie hall trip.

i was thinking about that too. the teacher is hell but very good. not many people get A's if any. but that would mean i could not get back into spanish if i wanted to my senior year.

you need 100 hours of community service to graduate at the school. freshman through senior requires 30, 30, 20, 20 hours per year respectively. i got 100.5 last year. my goal is about 300. i'm going for the well-rounded player instead of the all grades or the jock. but some people are amazing.

i know a guy from high school, every single class he has is an AP except water polo. Aced everything. 4.7 something GPA. it's cool and all, but no way in hell am i doing that. there goes my almost non-existant life. haha.

I don't think having the 3 years of Spanish is that vital to your goals. Especially in light of everything else.

What are your college goals?

I don't know yet. I don't even know what kind of college I want to go to. UCLA or Cal would be quite awesome, but maybe it'd be nicer to try something new and travel to the East Coast or something and go to something like Boston College. My dream school is Yale. But considering how hard it is to get into those ivy league schools, i'm not sure i'm going to apply. I'll have to look into it later though. I still know nothing about any school except UCLA, USC, and Berkeley. Got to broaden my vision.
