An 8 way joystick? Controlling the pod-wheel I guess. Does it still push to change modes and feel the same?

Yes, he actually bastardizes an old Atari joystick pot to make the pushbutton an 8-way No, I wish it did still push (this is the one drawback!)


You could theoretically use the 8 way to work the iPod (assuming the iPod can work off of ir signal, and I believe I have seen other remotes for the iPod so why not? )

I use the 8 way to move the map on the Nav. And on the headunit it works the folders on an .mp3 disc (up and down) and individual files (left and right)

I think DJ Qube charges $199 for his basic mod, of course mine was a little more elaborate.

I've always thought what Honda did was really silly. It looks like so much more than just a button I always try to twist it and push it around and stuff...

Hmm. So you have the Alpine and use it to connect to an iPod. But you can't use the LH controls to control it? I guess you have to go in to the radio on the RH to control the Pod.

Okay. Not quite as interesting but not the worst compromise.
