what's interesting, and I only recently found this out, I guess the PowerPC floating point is more precise and the chip wastes fewer cycles with bad prediction. Intel just gets by on brute force.... I mean, they *are* an american company after all

Herein lies Apple's interesting marketing rub....for 10 years they have been trying to convince us that forget clock speeds the PPC GX is faster than x86
and now
"oh your new Macintel computer is 2X times faster than a G5
