Just tested my DSL. That's the fastest it's ever tested at.
What did you use to test it?

You cant hold a ton of credence to these type of tests, Java and so many other factors make them not to accurate.

Needless to say my suck Comcast "pro" rape small business in the a_ _ /$95.00 a month connection is only a tad faster than your DSL!

Download speed: 2644 kilobits per second
Test details: 1204 kilobytes downloaded in 3.644 seconds.

When I was on the 1.5 mbps service, my connection tested at 1.2 mbps. Last year I got a free upgrade ( ) to 3.0 mbps but previously tested at only 1.7 to 1.9.

...that cable is faster thing is marketing Kind of like chip speeds on computers.
it can go both ways, but my DSL is wicked fast, and Lisa's cable, which is *rated* to be twice as fast, is, in actual practical usage, twice as SLOW. It really seems to be whether or not you get lucky with cable and get a pipe with few people on it. Not likely in a city.

and careful mikey... initial photoshop tests in OSX on intel show it to be much faster than those G5's There's a reason we don't use mac's in the film biz. I won't say what that reason is, because we're friends

.... which reminds me. I have to show you what I got for xmas

we had DSL at our beach rental house before and had a good connection, and likewise with cable at another location....that being said what's wrong with a lot of people on my pipe? :confused;
