You have never heard of airsoft!!?! you live in japan? its growing fast in the UK too....
I am guessing you know what paintball is....
People get dressed up in full military gear with guns that LOOK real and are made to scale...they shoot plastic bb's and play scenario games....you call yourself out when hit...its loads of fun.
Pick up a security arms magazine...its one of the airsoft magazines....there are also shooting leauges using these guns....competitive shooting....
I am guessing you know what paintball is....

Well...in airsoft...the guns look like real assault rifles, pistols, ect. the assault riles use a mechbox to compress a piston (electric motor) and fire the little bb. the pistols use a small amount of hfc134(something like that) gas to blow the slide back...ect...firing the bb. The guns look real and all...dead on real...
In airsoft you dress up as marines, special forces...whatever you want to...play outside on a large piece of land in woods or whatever....or in buildings doing CQB stuff....
In paintball guns are fired by c02 or compressed air...look nothing like real guns and you play on a small field where the objective is to eliminate other team and get the flag.
There is a small overlap in paintball....a very small percentage of paintball players play scenario paintball....this is setup just like airsoft (camo, clothes and all) but you use paintball markers....most of which have been modified to look closer to what an actual gun looks like....
