There are a lot of SC systems out there - as long as the controller is providing a good mixture and you're not in any danger of pre-ignition knock, I don't see any problem, actually. The only other issue would be ring tension - as long as you've got a good seal, engine should be fine.

The inboard CV problem is more of an issue with us autoxers - inside wheelspin puts a more severe load on the trunion.

shouldn't cost that much. mine was $80 and I thought that was high (even if my rims are forged.. $160 is )

$40 is a great deal..just make sure it's not bubba's garage shop .. a crowbar and a bicycle pump might not do it
