and besides .7 point of compression isn't *that* much, enough to notice in tuning, but I bet the ECU could tune itself enough retard and enrichment to deal with that much change... not fact, just a hunch...

I think that's right, wicky. That's probably one of the ECU tradeoffs that Honda makes (emissions vs. power). That said, I had also heard something about a different compression ratio, but that could be bunk.
