I find it strange how "smart " people can be so dumb.
My SIL and her husband both have Covid-19, she has two degrees and her hubby is a compound pharmacists. She has been in bed for 7 days with what she thought was a case of a bad flu. Her daughter works at a doctors office and if they take any time off(for any reason) they have to test for covid before they can come back to the office, well she tested positive. So my SIL took the test and it was + then her hubby waited one more day before he finally broke down and took the test, he's + too.

Both have waited to long to take Paxlovid or most of the other drugs to combat Covid. Most have to be started by the 5th or 7th day after symptoms first appear. I hope they get over this unscaved.

We told them to look out for the double dip, thats where you get sick then start to feel better and then feel even sicker than when you first got sick. They didn't even have an oximeter at home to test the oxygen levels. Oxygen has been at 93 to 96 depending if it's in the morning or later in the day. I think thats to low but I'm no doctor and don't pretend to be one.

I know my wife and I know most of the first signs of Covid and we would take a test at the very first sign, hell the test is free. My wife and I have had 4 covid shots but with my wife's cancer we still have to be careful. My wife's doctor told her she is scheduled for a fifth shot sometime in the late Fall. My doctor told me I don't qualify for the 5th shot, Oh well.

May 2022 Covid death toll in the USA, 8482 dead.
This is from World-o-meter
That's a another drop from last month but its still around 274 dead a day, down from 423 in April.
And just last January it was 62,468 dead(around 2,015 a day) from Covid

With the vaccine and therapeutics to treat Covid, cases will or should keep going down.
My wife also got her Evusheld antibody treatment(two shots, one in each butt cheek) to help her from getting Covid in the first place.

Thanks Rod & hoping your wife stays well I'm seeing another family member ( Bro-in-Law ) deal with the horrible C and how it affects everyone I realize is different but still a tuff thing to have to go thru.

Unfortunately, it was a bone-rattler for her. She hadn’t had COVID before, so this was not only a breakthrough variant, but she was feeling it in full force. Now, all the while, I tested negative 4 more times until we both got to 10 days.

Weird, but I think that’s to be expected with these new variants.

Blargh. So, my mom's immunosuppression is going through the roof, and so I have to be extra vigilant on my end.
. . . all the while, getting terrible allergies.
