charlie, i had the rear quarterpanels flared (the whole panel, not those gay pickup style riveted-on flares) about a 1/2in each side, and the fenders were rolled, plus the suspension mounts the spindle further inboard. there's actually plenty of room to accept the tire into the wheel well.

there are actually quite a few shops around houston that did the work for me... joey's engines and parts, horsepower engineering, richey collision center, etc.

18x10.5 running 315s should squeeze under the stock rear fenders, actually...even under full compression on the track. It's tight, but it does work.

Back on topic, I'm not a FWD fan, so my choice would be AWD or RWD...so probably a Scooby or a 99+ Miata...

well I think the old Scooby's are pretty fugly and a Miata is too small.
