I think the primary benefit is the cutout for the Mugen intake (develops a tiny bit of positive manifold pressure at higher speeds) and marginally better cooling. It doesn't affect the airflow under the car and doesn't significantly affect the overall shape. The drag reduction would be very small, if anything.
Actually it does effect airflow under the car. It comes with an undertray that extends the length of the front end under the car to reduce the amount air is whipping around under the car and causing drag. It also has built in air ducts for the use of attatching brake cooling vents to cool the front brakes and a panel that forces more air through the radiator for higher cooling effeciency. Anything else

the drag is increased by the square of the increase in frontal opening, though

As opposed to the factory square??.... Airflow is more directed on this bumper than the factory one to exact locations ... Mugen doesn't use wind tunnels to test parts for shits and giggles

I see what your saying thought with the hole opening being larger but I'm sure they didn't make it worse... kinda defeat the purpose

The mugen bumper has more total forward opening than the stock, therefore, higher drag. That doesn't mean it's not better for racing - racecars have terribly high drag numbers in return for much higher downforce or cooling efficiency numbers.

Still, the video does imply that you're cleaning the bumper post-hump
