He is who he is, Jeff. I don't think the delivery hurt him at all with those who support his position.

The debates aren't really aimed at those who already know who/what they are voting for. It's about the people who are unsure. Al Bore's delivery was so dull, so passion-less, that Bush's lack of coherence wasn't really that glaring. Kerry had the passion and fire, certainly not in the same league as Clinton, but much more than Gore did, and that really make Bush's mannerisms stand out.

 

Maybe you're right. I can't pass judgement because I'm a Kerry guy. It's just that most people (I think) already know Bush's mannerisms and don't expect much on that score.

Anyway, I thought Kerry was quite "presidential," if you will. I don't think anything except the final wrap-ups felt rehearsed or canned.
