Decisions...decisions...
I voted for the Caterham. I'm biased; I've already logged over 100k miles on various Buells. I've responded in the "I'm" thread already. But here it is, again...
So why, you ask, did I pick the Cat? 1) I know the capabilities of the bike; you can never (unless you live near Deal's Gap) get even close to the potential of the bike. Anything less than knee-dragging, tail-sliding, washing-the-front-tire-out-while-saving-it-on-your-knee riding is just plain boring. Whereas you can have fun in the Cat on any freeway on-ramp. 2) Tinkerability - there's not much more you can do to the Buell. Sure, you can make a little more power, but you're not going to make it stick any better. The Caterham, you'll be tinkering with it the rest of your life with it.

I'm curious how many people vote Caterham primarily because of the safety factor. To be honest, while this weighs significantly in either decision, this isn't a deal breaker for me. Over the years, I have become so used to having to be so reactive to other people on the road (small convertible as well as bicycle riding on streets in cities and highways) I'm not overwhelmingly concerned about being on a motorcycle.
The way I figure it, I'm just about as endangered in a Caterham since I will be sitting even lower than in my Miata.
The upside to the Caterham is that it's funky cool and that I can build it myself.
The upside to the motorcycle is that it's something I've never owned and always been interested in.

Don't forget, it's easier to crash on a bike all by yourself than in a car. The car always has a little more protection.
Caterham is cool enough and unique enough to keep forever if you wanted. Bike might get old as you get older.

You didnt expect me to read back did you?
