How did it go?
Is she still speaking to you?

I ended up cruising around the coast on Sunday, not exactly warm but a great day for it.
Well, the weekend didn't really turn out exactly as planned.
Yes we did make it to the house in the mountains, but the 4x4 that we were supposed to use to get to the house wasn't running, so we had to take the S2000 up there
....
This was quite an experience that I don't intend to try again in a hurry!!.....
She just about made it up the track, with a few scrapes on the bottom and a couple of largish stone "hits" underneath as well...

Had to get my friend to push to get the car backwards up the unmade road where I parked it..... horrible horrible smell of burning clutch after getting her out
But did enjoy the thrash back into Tokyo afterwards, covering the 120 miles in about 2 hours (20 minutes of that stuck in a traffic jam).
The wife is still talking to me fortunately, but mainly because we didn't get a chance to take to the twisties.....

The 4x4 is a very very old jeep style thing. the "road" is a private track unmade and the jeep is parked at the bottom of it, off the public road. This means that it doesn't need the normal tax/registration/insurance etc. it also means that it hadn't been used for about 4 months and the guy who was supposed to be sorting it out didn't realise that we needed it this weekend, so there was no chance of starting it!
My friend had an Audi TT Quattro which made easier work of the track than mine did
We are looking for a semi-decent 4x4 now that we can actually use on the road and everything up there......

It is VERY peaceful and quiet, though not particularly temple like
I shall try to remember to bring a couple of pics in to post tomorrow. There is a stream running past the house, and the place is quiet enough for you to be able to hear it in all of the rooms.
I have it on good authority that there are beers and monkeys living in the woods in which it is set, and the fact that one of the mini BBQ's went missing off the deck during the night would give me reason to believe this .....
It is about 10 minutes drive up the track from the road, so it is pretty remote.....
I am getting a little worried about how accessible it will be in the winter though, as it I know from past experience that it really dumps it with snow there!!!!

Sounds great, some pics would be great too.
I'm sure you could train some of the monkeys to shovel the road in the winter to keep it accesible.

It would be a perfect place to spend a nice summer night with a quiet beer relaxing.
