Do ALL Americans ......
I've spent years skiing in Europe and somehow never managed to go skiing in France. Spent a LOT of time in Germany, Austria and I actually learned to ski in Italy when I was a wee little chap.
I agree about Whistler, though, it rivals or beats every place I've been.
I am rather fond of Alta in Utah, though. I think it might be that the 3 days I was there back in college were probably my 3 best days of skiing in my life...taking into consideration the conditions as well as my particular "feel" for the mountain.

I definitely think that how good a time you had somewhere clouds your judgement as to how good the place itself is ..... we had a great time in Whistler 10 of us rented this great house at the side of one of the slopes with a hot tub, the works .....
