I agree! When my Dad passed we spent what felt like hours calling close friends and family immediately after. Important news whether that be happy or sad, I think should be a phone call/face-to-face thing.

Yeah I think politically, social media can be an amazing tool. When it comes to significant personal life events though...Then again, we're entering an age when people don't know what life is like before smartphones! If Marshall McLuhan were still alive he'd be having a field day with this.
