According to legend, a poor Turkish farmer discovered tea while boiling tea leaves for food. The farmer discovered the broth made an excellent drink.

Crap purely because the answer isn't fact. No one really knows how tea was discovered. Legend has it, it was a Chinese king who dropped the leaves into a pot by accident. Either way every culture has their own story I'm sure.

CRAP The Chinese Father of Agriculture, Emperor Shennong of ancient China, is credited with discovering tea when leaves from tea bushes accidentally fell into his pot of boiling water. Accidents do happen!
