The character Sherlock Holmes used the phrase " Elementary, my dear Watson " at least once in every Sherlock Holmes story written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I'm going to say crap.

Given that refrigeration is a relatively new invention, it sounds about right. Though I'm probably going to be right again. :bandhead:
I think I'll change my answer to fact.

There is NO changing my mind option in here.

Iced tea was first created during the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis.

FACT or CRAP ?

FACT

A heat wave hit the 1904 World's Fair making it impossible for a tea merchant to give away free samples of his hot tea. In desperation he poured his tea over ice, served it to the overheated crowd, and turned his unwanted hot tea into a cool new product.
Weird, apparently the 1860s is after 1904.

Making something popular and inventing it are not the same thing; then again I should know by now that the people who wrote this don't actually research anything.

I think I realized the problem... this calendar was either:

A) Written in the 1960s before the internet existed, and you could effectively research most things in about 15 seconds.
B) Written by people who don't realize the internet exists
C) Written by someone from Snopes as a way to drive traffic to their site

Seriously...

Because I've had a ridiculously shite start to my work week, I'm arguing this one. http://www.revolutiontea.com/tea-art...-iced-tea.html Seems like it was made popular, but not first created.

Ahhh not that I'm reading back or anything but I see Sir CP and I are on the same page with the iced tea thing.

As for today's question, I'll go with fact.

I'll say fact.

I think I read somewhere that he never actually said that in the original books (or maybe only said it once). But somehow that phrase got popularized in future versions of the stories?
