I'm going to say FACT mainly out of nostalgia. My maternal grandfather apparently looked so much like Clark Gable that he was nicknamed "Clarky."

FACT While Gable was with the Eighth Air Force in World War II, the Air Marshall of the Nazi Luftwaffe, Hermann Goering, ordered a bounty on Gable's head. When Hitler heard about the bounty he was furious and made Goering cancel the order. Stars and stripes!
