The opposite is true. It is easier for humans to detect smells in the spring and summer, because the air is moist, holding the smells longer.

I can think of a LOT of things I'd rather smell than new car interior (which is potentially filled with mildly toxic fumes)... like pizza... or tacos... or bacon... mmm bacon... crap now I'm hungry.
