Some Mexican tequilas have a worm in the bottle, which is supposed to have hallucinogenic qualities.

Fact. I don't drink and I know that.

 

I think this is a trick question. It is actually Mezcal that has the worm in it but technically Tequila can be considered a type of Mezcal. Crapish fact.

Crap to the question because the worm is found in Mezcals not Tequila.

Fun fact though, the first bottle of alcohol I stole from the parents liquor cabinet was a bottle of Mezcal My friend and I drank the entire damn thing trying to prove that we could handle it . Once we got to the worm at the bottom, we sat it on a chopping block and ate half each. What they don't tell you is the slimy alcohol drunk texture of the worm is not ideal for someone who's just consumed half a bottle of alcohol. Spent the rest of the night with my head over the toilet

 

That's the whole point, if you're drunk enough to eat the stupid worm you're probably going to hate life, so by eating the worm you're more likely to puke and not get alcohol poisoning.

 

Sounds more factual than half the stuff in this book
