Fantastic discovery!! the empty post.

Hey Brant, guess what? I'm thinking about getting a Miata as well.
I was in an accident a few weeks ago. I thought the damage suffered was only cosmetic initially, and was considering not repairing anything. But when I brought the car in for alignment, I was told the damage might be far more extensive. So after bringing the car in for a quote at a body shop, I was told that the chassis is bent, and given an estimate of $7900, which is more than my 7 year old Integra is worth, I'm quite sure - i.e., it's totalled if I bring it to the insurance company. So I'm thinking of just filing a claim, and then using the $6000 or so they should give me to buy a used Miata.
I have a problem though, do any of you committee members have any idea how this will affect my insurance premiums? I just turned 25, and the accident involved me, my car, and a concrete guard rail, and that was it. No one was hurt. No bad record (prior to this, that is :( ). I'd really like to just file insurance claims and get a new car, but I'm also getting a place to live in in a few months, and I don't want to end up broke.
Any advice will be appreciated. I want to talk to my insurance agent about it first, but if he informs me that my rate increase is going to be too hefty, and I decide not to file claim, I'm afraid he'll give me a hard time when I renew my insurance this coming May
