One time I was sledding down my street when I hit a patch where there was no snow. The sled stopped, I kept going and split my chin open on the pavement. Didn't realize it till I got home (mom had called for me to shovel the driveway, a VERY LONG driveway) and then mom saw blood dripping from my chin.

Another good one was one time when I was working at a forge. I had just finished beating my rod of iron (not that rod you perverts, the rod I was working in the forge) when I went to touch it. Now they warned us ahead of time that the part that's grey and looks cold is still about 900*F. I touched it, realized what I did then ran for some cold water. The blister caused my fingertip to double in size!

And now for pain inflicted on others - once I was trying to teach my sister how to crawl down the stairs in my house on her stomach to be like spiderman...well she had some trouble. She slipped and rolled down the stairs into a trashcan that was sitting at the bottom. Boy did I get in trouble for that one.
This one time ... at band camp ...

My story: my husband and I were at a lake to go windsurfing. We were trying to level the truck so we could sleep in the back. He moved a large rock and smashed his thumb with it, taking a big chunk of skin off. It was bleeding profusely, so I pulled out the swiss army knife in order to cut a strip of cloth that he could wrap around it. Not ever having been a Boy Scout, my skill with the knife was poor - and it closed right on MY thumb, taking a big chunk of skin. Now we're both bleeding profusely from the same thumb. Finally got cloth cut for both of us, wrapped our thumbs with cloth and duct tape, and sat there looking like dorks with our thumbs in the air.

Once I was widdling on a piece of wood when I was about 8 years old. I slipped and cut my thumb from knuckle to knuckle all the way to the bone. The feeling of the knife scraping across my bone was aweful. I now have some nerve damage and only have partial feeling in it.
I was working on a wire mesh welding machine a few years ago on an air leak, I reached into a cabinet full of transformers, I reached in a hit one of the transformers with the back of my hand and got hit with about 400 volts, it knocked me back a couple of meters and I sat there stunned until I realized what had happened. Left a big burn mark on the back of my hand, I have a nasty habit of electocuting myself
