Cheryl - go in there and make them realize that just because insurance is paying for this they can't take their time and contact when they feel like it. And definitely let them know you aren't just some random chick who doesn't know shite about cars...

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. The body shop said they'd call probably by the end of the week (and he called me earlier this a.m.), but he and I were playing phone tag today. Awhile back you may recall I tried to make it clear I wasn't some stupid chick when he tried to tell me I could get my (BYS) sideskirts at the dealer.

I think it's the guy at the body shop that doesn't know much about my car, but it's the dealer who's doing the mechanical work on Pimpy.

 

 

The guy who said it wasn't originally built in Japan is the guy from the body shop - the mechanical stuff is being done at the dealer, which is really my only reasonable option at this point.

 

It sounds like they got a hold of a "JDM" spec engine, with higher compression.

The most important factor is minimum octane rating. Depends on what that number is, and what fuel is available in your area
