James, Not exactly like you had a choice, though, is it? In my case, my ancestors were decidedly not pilgrims. They were poor fockers living in Russian ghettos who got the shite kicked out of them by Cossacks any time the vodka started pouring (which was, by all accounts, quite frequent).
