ever since a group of friars moved in down the street and started selling flowers as well. People wanted to be "closer to god", so they would buy flowers from the friars instead of the florist. No matter how much the florist begged the friars to run their shop elsewhere, they refused. So the florist asked the local tough guy, Hugh, to talk some sense into them. Hugh went over to the other shop, and tore the place apart, utterly destroying the chance to do business in that particular building. The moral of the story: Hugh, and only Hugh, can prevent florist friars.
