Ive had a long time to get over the past....and Im happy I did.....now that it tried to come back and haunt me, I know what to do

I think the most important thing that someone needs to learn about relationships it to be themselves. If you have to pretent to be someone that you aren't in order to please your partner, then you are not going to last long with that person.
They should either take you for what you are, or you shouldn't be together, simple as that in my book ....
