Start packing. Make shore you take all the liberal anti-Americans with you. Special Micheal More. ...Oh I recommend France. Nice place.
since when was being anti-american defined as participating in our elections in hopes of having the best (In my opinion) president and other elected officials? Oh, and that whole thing about allowing more than one opinion...personal freedoms or some like who needs those anyhow?

I dont get the anti-American thing either This great nation is supposed to be a place where we can have different beliefs whether they be religious..political...moral, etc....the Constitution allows us to disagree....debate ideas yes, but tolerate others beliefs and viewpoints. Intolerance is so scary!

So what if Kerry burned his war medals..he fought for his country..was a hero...if after the fact the becomes disenfranchised with the reasons for the war shouldn't it be his prerogative as a free American to question decisions made?

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

This surpised me by making me a little melancholy.

What, me quote mike and not creatively edit it? My politics, my personal and public agendas, I keep close and don't preach or argue with others (Go Badnarik!). However, it disturbs me greatly to see/read that someone is ashamed to be American, etc. I am proud, regardless of my distaste towards who was elected President.

It's certainly one's right to disparage the President. To disparage someone because they voted for that President (or any candidate) is a personal attack, one that is as low as any bigotry or stereotyping, an attack that should be eliminated with extreme prejudice.

Oh, and Canada sucks
Great non edit

Let me be perfectly frank.

You don't know what you are talking about.

Your statement really deserves comment.

I believe you had a bad experience in a Canadian hospital. Maybe even two. How do you conlude that Canada's hospitals suck? Moreover how, since many people have bad experiences in US hospitals, do not conclude that US hospitals suck.

Your reaction is not a surprise. Many Canadians are concerned about the changes that have occured in the healthcare system over the past 10 or so years. The system is being eroded. Right now it is neither truely socialized nor is it private. It is caught in the throes of change; change at the hands of 'live for the minute' politicians.

The other reason your reaction doesn't surprise me is because I understand that most Americans really don't have a clue about what is going on around them. They really don't. Now you (and others) may take exception and personal offense but I wouldn't take it this way if I were you. I love the US and Americans. I live here and could leave at any time... I choose to stay, for lots of reasons.

Instead take a look at the paper or the news. Ask yourself how much you or anyone around you knows or talks about what's going on in Europe. Or the middle east in any country that the US isn't warring in. Is the name of Mexico's president commonly known? Do people around you generally know the US's major trading partner, the capital of Canada, what province Toronto is in... or even what a province is? Not likely.

Is that important? I'm not sure if it is. It is to me. I'm just saying the world and it's affairs are not commonly known here. They are elsewhere by the way.

Do I have a more informed opinion on heathcare (US and Cdn) than you? Very likely. My business is healthcare and I am in fact an expert both by career and academic training. If that doesn't matter to you and anecdotes do, I have had far more exposure to the US healthcare system than you have had unless you too are a healthcare professional. I have also had far more exposure to the Canadian system.

Which system is better? Both sides of the border claim there's is better. I'm not saying I know, I'm simply saying they both have there problems and that you don't know what you're talking about.

Ooo this is harsh and wrong.

I meant in world affairs... the world outside the US.
