The Great Drive
Are you insane or are you deliberately being silly?
The Dragon, well known as it is is referred as "a commute" here. Seriously, I used to take the Calaveras Canyon to work sometime for fun when traffic on the 680 was bad. That's 15 miles of twisties compared to the 11 of the Dragon.
The Great Drive is 136 miles.
Don't get me wrong, I want to do the Dragon and it looks wicked.. but a "Mini-Dragon"? C'mon.

Contrast and compare.
Never having been there, I think the beauty of the Dragon is the roads are more track-like. More sweeper pins as opposed to supertight switchbacks. This has always been my impression and it's borne up by the maps.
Has anyone here done both?

Uhm... no there aren't. There is one at a critical point. At the top of Mt Ham there are washrooms in the Lick Observatory. It's important to know if it's open.
Hours are:
Mon - Fri: 12:30pm - 5:00pm
Sat - Sun: 10:00am - 5:00pm

Also the Junction restaurant on the east side, and perhaps a stop could be arranged on the west side at Alum Rock
