also what's currently going into the '99 i'm buying.
problem is, eats 1 qt. of oil nearly every 1000 miles.
header? burning it?
someone suggest amsoil (sp?). any opinion on it?
I've been running Mobil1 in Guinness for the last year. She's been nice enough to not burn a drop. If you've got a '99 Civic burning 1pt every 1000 miles you've got some issues to deal with. Have you checked for leaks? Checked timing? I've got no opinion of Amsoil, other than I've heard equally good things about it, Mobil1 and Redline. Seems to me that for the money Mobil1 is the best return on investment and you're better off checking something other than the oil quality to solve that problem...

I love it when I can accidentally steal a corner in a cuddle thread with an entirely NOT cuddly post...

I doubt the oil change would reduce consumption. If the DC header is the problem, is there another header you could run that might be less of a scavenger?

i'm still looking into other options.. D series motor is pretty weak, so unless i switch to b16 or b18 power, i need to find max hp. i'll go hunt for different options down the road.. engine swap on my daily driver is not really what i want to be doing when i should be saving up for '04/'05 S.

You could also buy a car that's not such a bloated piggy and then you could live with less power like I do...
