Weird is not strange enough.

Are we all feeling encumbered by concepts of modular time?

I work hard to not feel encumbered by such constraints, Chaz...

Very good, Brant!!!

You guys'll like this one....

The FP and I were at a play this weekend (Gypsy), and she started telling me how my brother in law had bought his wife an atomic watch...

This subject came up because I just replaced the batteries on four watches I've had lying around in my drawer...

Anyway, she proceeded to say, "Gee, wouldn't it be wonderful not to have to change the batteries"...

At this point, I started a mild chuckle, and ended in a full-fledged guffaw.

"Hon," I said, "an 'atomic watch' is not powered by a nuclear fuel cell"

And, so, I proceeded to explain to here that this thing was being fed data by one of the Cesium clocks that the US Bureau of Weights and Measures (I think) use to broadcast the time.

This, amidst some serious laughing. We haven't had a good laugh like that in a looooong time.
