Has anyone seen The Raptor?

HIt it for ya RB and it was a yummy 1/2 BLT & cup of Tortilla Soup
your Cowboy Steak House was closed I wonder if they don't get going on everything up there till after Memorial Day? The only campground open was Barton Flats where we camped. The Ranger Lady said the other ones open next Friday

You must be right about Cowboy Express closing for the winter. I did a search and couldn't find anything about permanent closure.

We used to go to Barton Flats on summer vacation when I was a little kid. I once lost a Kayak on Jenks Lake.

Odd that you decided to give this very detailed history RB since I neglected to give YOU a lil story
Here's mine
Spoiler
He goes around the
from where we sat inside. An older gal is back there alone at a table. He gets a phone call ( still with me
) I can clearly hear him … " I'm at BLT's talking to Cathy " I looked over after hearing HER comments to him regarding her Health & Doctor BS on Medical shtuffz
she had I think an oxygen tube and looked yeah not in super good health poor thing. I wasn't being NOSEY
just so close that I could hear the conversation
kept referencing $$ and even talked bout property behind her house getting zoned for low income housing ( which she sounded unhappy about )before this turns into a book I will say that I couldn't help but feel for her. Sounded like Fire Wood costing $250.00 a cord was not helping her situation. By the time we left I came real close to walking over & handing her a benjamin but I didn't
kinda wish I had if only to help her a lil. I love that you know SO much bout that town

I still think you should consider a cabin ownership out near where that house that has the big Observatory so you could be
w / them
1 thing that confuses me is if she's part owner of that place it seems she'd be doing otay fund wise since it seems to have good food etc.. and prolly plenty of business in the Tourist Season
Maybe that's the problem those places are only busy during Winter & Summer I bet

RB I also heard her mention using the pine cones in her wood burning stove for heat, she needs to find a use for them other the Cinnamon Scented ones they sell at the Grocery Stores @ Christmas

I prolly could have collected 890,000 in the 2 days I was there
Pet Pine Cones
$$$$$$$

Cathy has lung disease from chain smoking. She's gotten crabby. We looked for a cabin for a long time. We need one with a clear, unbroken view of the horizon for astronomy. There just aren't any. Trees in the way. My dream is to retire, get a place in Big Bear, build a high deck with an observatory dome, and mount a big 16" inch Schmidt Cassegrain scope (mine is 8") on a permanent pier. We haven't lived through a winter there, though. Big Red would be pretty useless in the snow. Out near what big observatory, the solar telescope on the North Shore? I don't remember much about Jenks Lake. I was very little. All I remember is this big lake that swallowed my kayak. Why would fire wood be $250 a cord? I've never heard of such a thing.

RB where you at
