Default Help! What does Pan-European mean?

What does the term "Pan-" mean when you're talking about Pan-European market? Does it mean all the contiguous European countries plus outlying countries like Scandanavia or what? I'm trying to understand where you would use European vs. Pan-European.

Thanks. Sorry for the serious post.

And no cracks about cooking or anything corner-ish. I need to get this stupid press release written. Thanks

Pan-European means "the whole of Europe" or "Across Europe". It just gives a sense of being more than something that is described as European.

An American company launching a product in London could say that this is their European strategy. If they were to launch in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Oslo etc. this would be considered a Pan-European strategy .....
