Hospital visit
I'm in the Hospital.
Had a ruptured appendix.
That was Wednesday morningng.
It wasn't fun.
Bottom line. If you are ever in a lot of pain, tell them your allergic to Morphine so they will go to Diluaded instead. Three hours in the emergency room and 10 units of Morphine and I'm still in complete and total agony. After the Diluadid, I don't remember much other than I needed a bump when I started to come down. Then it was a little Versed and I was on my way.
I've been getting non stop IV antibiotics with three different in rotation. My vein is about shot. They just took by morphine pump and hung my last bag of Flagel. Then I'll be on orals and hopefully later, home.

Ohhhhh I've totally been there. Hope you're on the mend soon and the meds do their job!

The morphine did me juuuuuuuust fine though. They had to replace my picc line twice. Still gives me the creeps thinking about sleeping with that thing in my arm. :shiver:
My suggestion is to set an alarm in the middle of the night once you're home - no one told me the pain meds would wear off and when I tried to roll over to get out of bed, the pain was intense.

They gave me Lortab for my orals and that has worked much better IMHO.
If something like that ever happens again, I'm tellin' 'em I had a reaction to Morphine so they will go for the Dilauidid. When I got that stuff, I was gone...
