However, I recently found out that one of my close friends became an avid pot smoker but seeing how her life has gone in the last six months, I can't really blame her.

 

I hope she isn't using it as an escape. That's when things can go bad.

 

That's the thing. I think she uses it as a means of 'dealing' w/ her problems. She claims it really helps her out. I didn't want to be judgemental and say something because she doesn't have a lot of people that are close to her that are supportive. That's why I worry about her.

What is it w/ pot smokers claiming that it makes them smarter? Maybe in the short (and I mean short) run.

Just keep an eye on her and be a friend. Sounds like she is going through a rough time and hopefully she has a good enough head on her shoulders to make it through.
