it was the router's fault by the way. i just upgraded the firmware and things are even better than normal.
Yup, if someone messed with any routers in your house, that could cause certain sites to get screened.

I don't think I've ever heard of that happening though. Unless someone is leeching wireless off you and decided to play with your router... or if you're leeching off someone, they might cut you off.

yes, I think the problem occured shortly after I got a new wireless thingy. It's Linksys. I guess I'll have to go to the Linksys website?
I have the same thing at work yet I have no problem.
Right now, I'm using the very same laptop that can't get Sk2i at home.

You can get into the router config from a browser (IE is best) on a computer inside your home network. The address will be something like 192.168.0.1 ... actually I recall Linksys may use something like 192.168.0.11

You should go in there and set up WEP anyway. Use 128.

... oh.. .the reason you might want to go in there is to look at "rules" or something that could mean you can't get to some IPs.

(and you REALLY do want to get in there and set a WEP.

One way you can make sure that the problem is in the wireless access point, Ninh, is to plug your ethernet wire (if you have hardwired ethernet) directly from your PC into your cable/DSL modem -- bypassing the Linksys box. If you can connect to s2ki that way, then you've nailed it.

In anycase, John is right. Linksys equipment lets you connect to http://192.168.1.1 and then change parameters on the router. Give it a try. There should be a tab for sites which are blocked, as I recall.

It's the stuff that'll probably give us all cancer when we get older.
