Clavicle fracture. I was taking out the trash a week ago last Tuesday, missed a step, and fell. I saw my orthopedic surgeon yesterday. You can clearly see the fracture in the X-rays. I may need surgery and a plate. It hurts quite a bit.

 

Raptor, sorry to hear. I broke my collar bone snowboarding about two years ago. I snapped it clean in half and had one end poking out of my skin on top of my shoulder! I had surgery a week later and had a metal rod inserted inside of the bone and had it there for 12 weeks. Not to get into all the details, but I think breaking it bad enough to justify getting surgery is actually better in the long run. My collar bone is (nearly) straight and the pain was gone after the surgery.
