I had a 36,000 gallon pool that I took care of at the condo complex I maintained and it also had trees all around it. People would complain that it was too hot or too cold or there are leaves in it, I would clean it every morning and all it would take would be a slight wind and it would fill up again. I also had a constant problem with the vacum system losing suction.
One funny story was about 10% of the condos there are rentals and one summer we had a group of Hasidic Jews stay in the rental condos. The men and women aren't allowed to swim together so they wanted us to tell the homeowners that at a certain time of day only men can go in the pool and and vice-versa with women. It didn't fly with the other homeowners.

Yeah we had originally planted Carolina Cherry tall bushes along the fence where you see those other tall ones ( I forget their name )
the Carolina Cherries not only dropped tons of leaves even though pretty much green year round they also dropped lil black berries & scooping the leaves got old. After several years we decided to spend some tax refund to replace them
Glad we did as these do NOT drop leaves or have berries

Interesting story & yeah I'm sure the homeowners were not digging that new rule

I had friends in Fort Fun that got a tub, had parties every other weekend, used it all the time... and 2 years later sold it and redid the yard to get rid of the slab for it.

We will miss the one in our apartment complex, although it was broke vastly more than it was working, so maybe not.
My sister bought a house in Bellingham that already had a hot tub on the deck. I think she said she has only used it 2 or 3 times. She says it is a pain in the ass and wishes that the house didn't come with it.

You have to be really careful with hot tubs if they get a lot of use you have to stay up on the chemicals. The products people use like shampoo lotions etc get in the water and can cause severe rashes.

Yeah again the weather up there may be part factor but regardless I think you either enjoy the therapy of one on your back & muscles etc.. or you don't

Key words here Robb are ( get a lot of use ) I know if I do pull the trigger here it would not be getting a ton of use more my own benefit.
Except when my 's & Mrs's are here and if there ever is another MomBBQ then yeah that would be the exception

Not definite on a decision yet regardless but do enjoy the input on the subject

Mark is happy to maintain the hot tub since he’s in it multiple times a week. (Pretty sure he uses bromine instead of chlorine?) I can ask him but I don’t think he’s had any issues with it.

I’m not up for the maintenance (but appreciate the benefits!). Not sure if you remember I had an above ground pool at the house in Windsor. By the end of the first summer I put it up for sale - someone bought it even though I told them they had to tear it down and take it away

I worked with a guy whose answer anytime anything went wrong with the pool was "ya gotta SHOCK IT"! Even if like the heater died "ya gotta SHOCK it." Tiles coming loose "ya gotta SHOCK it" That became the mantra of all of us who worked with him anytime anything went wrong.
