Default I just got back from Boron and Bakersfield.
Boron is in the middle of nowhere desert, 120 miles from La Crescenta. I spent the night last night in Boron. I scheduled the jobs on back to back days so I could take Highway 58 straight across to Bakersfield, 90 miles. However Highway 58 is closed at Tehachapi because of a mudslide that swallowed 175 cars and trucks. So I had to take the 58 to the 14 down to the 5 and back up to Bakersfield, which added over 90 miles. Plus I had to fight bumper-to-bumper, rush hour trom Lancaster to the 5. So what should have been a 75 minute trip took 3 1/2 hours.:f reak2:

Thanks, Mom. Boron is a strange little town. Remember Ronald Reagan and Twenty Mule Team Borax. US Borax mines the stuff there. My motel was right next to a store that sells only liquor and ice cream.
