That's along the line of my thoughts... maybe not an SI but a nice 2 door EX. Used... cheaper.

One of my thoughts in favour of the Elise is my expectation that they won't drop much in price. It's also not my first choice to buy a used track car.

When I had the S I loved going away for weekends and putting some miles on the car, not so sure that I would have been able to with an Elise.

Just a thought for you ...
And very good thoughts they are James. These are along my greatest concerns. My S fits two golf bags. That would be gone. You'd have to pack SO light even for a weekend.

You've really hit on my two greatest concerns... not a daily and no space.

Still... FAST!

[QUOTE=George]I drool over the Elise also, but I'm not sure it is the most practical choice out there.

Why not look at total impracticality and have a look at one of these?

What is that Rich? Renault?

JE, I'm in the same quandry. Though I have some advantages...

I can travel very light, and when I need space, I've got the Accord. Next year I'll have an Accord Hybrid, or maybe a Pilot. And in '06, I'll have an F250 turbodiesel

So for me, the Elise would be primarily an autox weapon, with occasional daily to-and-fro duties for the exercise (same as current S2k). The issue I have is that a friend of mine, and former S2k autox'er, already has his Elise and has reported it needs LSD, or they are going to be working hard (front bar, shocks, etc) to reduce wheelspin.

If there's a factory LSD (rumoured, then cancelled, now rumoured again), then I'm putting in my order now. If not? it, I'm racing a Tiga anyway

I think the mood has passed.

I don't think I'll be going in the direction of the Elise. Everything I read on the Elise board is "Awesome car, pain in the ass company". It's not going to be as reliable as the S, I can't use if for golf, I can't put much in the way of luggage for weekend trips, it's not as safe... AND they feck you over when you buy it.

In a poll on that forum 70% said they would not recommend others buy the car. What do you think the poll would show on this forum?

Sticking with the S for now.
