I'm at the Apple store in Palo Alto...
i'm not a fan of the mini, i think it's too much $$ for the storage you get. for ~$100 more ($399) you can get the 40GB ipod. best bang for the buck imho.
ogg? are you
ing kidding me? are you a slashdot troll or something? as for wma, it's complete crap. AAC (not fairplay) is a completely open standard, since you were pitching the ogg line.
there's a good reason ogg isn't widely supported on portable devices - processing power. sure it gives you small files, but it would suck way too much power on a portable device to do the advanced decoding.
As for the fm tuner bit - there's a reason I carry half my music library in my pocket, so I don't have to listen to the radio!!!

"ogg"? what's this? Microsoft word asked if you meant "egg".
Don't need a Ipod (I need something small so I can go biking with). Right now I use a Samsung Yepp with 64MB. Good for one hour worth of music before you recycle the songs.

if you don't need the capacity, or your library is smaller and you don't need good music management software, then by all means go with something less expensive.
