A new soft top for the S. Looks like there are some Canadian distributors for Robbins. I'm thinking: buy the top sometime over the next couple of months, then start saving for the labour it's gonna cost to have it installed.
I'm saying that if you want to take a road trip there is a group buy in the Del-Val forum.
That would be an epic road trip. Pretty sure whatever money I'd save on the group buy (and then some) would be spent on the gas it would take to drive ~5000 km

Ditto.

I need to investigate the labor required.

There's NO way I'm doing it myself (or even with help) based on what I've read. Pretty sure I'd blow a gasket. Looks like it takes about 8-10 hours to do it...I doubt the local dealer has ever done one, so I may just put out feelers with the local car group.

Looks like tops are about $500 plus another ~$200 if I wanted to defrost the window I never look out.

8-10 hours of labor. WSB-correction-factor makes that 16-20.

Which brands are you looking at? I've not done a ton of research yet but the Robbins ones seem to be well-liked. In Canada they're about $1300 with the defroster (it's only another $40 for the defroster so worth it for me).

Robbins.

I'd replace my twice-cracked plastic with glass, though it doesn't make a ton of sense to put in the defroster.

Hmmmmmm I'd looked at them and figured it might not make sense to order from the US...But the shipping estimate is $62. And even with duties/exchange it might be worth my while.

A crowbar to smash in the car blocking my driveway...
